India Oil meal Exports Declined by 58% Y-o-Y in October

6 Nov 2018

As per data released by SEA (Solvent Extraction Association of India), Indian oil meal exports reached 84,143 tons in October, which is around 58% lower compared to same period last year.

The overall export during April-October 2018 is reported at 1,582,589 tons compared to 1,486,036 tons during the same period of last year, up by 6.5%.

The export of mustard meal is nearly doubled at 680,216 tons in first seven months amid good demand from South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand.

Due to trade impasse between U.S. and China, the latter is forced to look at alternatives to source soybean, soymeal as well as soy oil. China has already approved mustard meal imports from India and may soon also approve soymeal imports from India.
